A fair price is what keeps us honest: no ads, no promoted profiles, and our only job is making dating work, because you pay the bills. It also means bots and scammers pay for the privilege of getting banned. One price, everyone, everything: no gender pricing, no premium tier.
When does billing start?+
Not while you wait. Joining the waitlist is free, and setting up your profile before launch is free. Your membership starts the day your city goes live. You never pay to look at an empty room.
Is $2.99 the real price?+
It's our launch target, and the model is the promise: one flat price with everything included. If the price ever changes, it changes for everyone equally: never per feature, never per gender, never as a surprise on your bill.
Do I keep paying $2.99 forever?+
No. After 12 months of billing, your subscription converts automatically to lifetime access: $35.88, total, ever. We stop charging you, and you keep everything, for as long as Jarta exists. It's a hard cap on what we can ever take from one person, not a promotional rate that quietly reverts.
What happens when my city is ready?+
You get an invite to set up your profile before launch day. When the city opens, everyone arrives at once, so your first day is a full grid of people who are also on day one, not an empty room or a graveyard of abandoned profiles.
How do you keep out bots and fake profiles?+
Before your city launches, everyone verifies who they really are: a national eID check in markets that have one, or a document-plus-liveness face match where eID isn't available yet (initially the case in the US, for example). It's a requirement to join, not an optional badge. Reports are still reviewed by a real person on top of that, so verification stops fakes at the door and human review handles everything else.
What about my data?+
European company, European servers. No ads means no ad profiling: your answers exist to match you with people, nothing else. You can export everything we hold about you, or delete it all, any time.
Only five conversations? Really?+
Really. Attention is the scarcest thing on a dating app, and the cap protects yours. And everyone else's. Here's the full reasoning.
How is my grid actually sorted?+
One sentence, no mystery: your grid shows everyone who matches your filters, ordered by how well your answers align with theirs and theirs with yours. Nothing else. No engagement scores, no paid visibility, no hidden ranking signal.
What stops you from changing this later?+
No outside investors to answer to. Jarta is self-funded, with no VC money and no growth-at-all-costs backers pushing for an eventual sale, a pivot to ads, or a return that requires squeezing more out of you. There's no cap table demanding the model change. If anything here ever changes, it'll be our call to defend to you directly, not a decision made by someone we raised money from.
